Class C: Informative Signs

Informative signs guide drivers along routes and provide useful information about destinations, facilities, and road classifications.

  • Shape: Rectangular.
  • Colouring: Green background for national highways (e.g. A4, A1), Blue background for municipal/freeways, Brown background for tourist destinations.
  • Symbols: Filling station (petrol pump), Hospital (H or red cross), Breakdown bay (phone/wrench).

Class D: Traffic Signals (Robots)

Traffic light signals regulate the flow of opposing traffic streams at busy intersections:

  • Solid RED: Stop behind the stop line.
  • Solid AMBER (Yellow): Stop before the stop line unless you are so close that stopping abruptly would cause a rear-end collision.
  • Solid GREEN: Proceed straight or turn if the intersection is clear and pedestrians have finished crossing.
  • FLASHING AMBER: Robot is in fallback/uncontrolled mode. Treat the intersection as an uncontrolled junction and give way to traffic from your RIGHT.
  • Green Filter Arrow: You have exclusive right-of-way to turn in the direction of the arrow regardless of the main round light.
★

EXAM TIP: Never proceed on a green light if the intersection ahead is blocked by queueing traffic — doing so gridlocks the junction.
